March 3, 2020 Republican Primary Results

Collin County turnout (Democrats and Republicans) was 25.5% and Precinct 179 turnout was 35.5%. 

Unofficial results in the races for US President show 2,008,385 votes were cast in the Republican Primary and 2,076,046 in the Democrat Primary.

The winners of the contested races in the Republican Primary and the percentage of the votes received are as follows:

State-wide Races

  • President- Donald J. Trump – 94%

  • US Senator- John Cornyn – 76%

  • Railroad Commissioner- James Wright – 56%

  • Judge, Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3- Bert Richardson – 52%

 

Collin County Races

  • Judge, 380th District Court- - Ben Smith – 82%

  • County Tax Assessor/Collector – Kenneth Maun – 59%

  • County Commissioner, Precinct 3 – Darrell Hale – 56%

  • Constable Precinct 1, Mike Vance – 62%

 

Runoff Election - July 14th

There is a run-off election in the 401st District Judge race between Sara Fox and George Flint, each receiving 40% of the vote.  The run-off election is scheduled for Tuesday July 14th with an early voting period from June 29th through July 10th.

During the December 13-14, 2019 State Republican Executive Committee meeting, the SREC voted to add 10propositions to the March 3, 2020 Republican Primary ballot:
